Liceo scientifico A.Avogadro - Biella
We are a class of seventeen-year-old students and we attend Liceo Scientifico A.Avogadro, a well-known high school in Biella, a small city in the north of Italy.
The school counts 1350 students, 2oo teachers, four different courses and a big variety of subjects. Since our school was built, in middle 1900s, the number of students was triplicated, so nowadays students have to attend classes in three different buildings.
We study mostly scientific subjects like maths, latin, chemistry, physics and biology and we can choose between four courses:
In "A" classes, students attend traditional scientific lessons.
"B" type classes have, in addiction, computer science courses with qualified teachers.
Students who attend "C" classes, study a second foreign language, in addiction to English: French or Spanish. By choosing this course you have the possibility of travelling, in fact every year we take part in school trips to France and to England.
In D classes students attend lessons of psychology and music.
Gym has a relevant place in our education, and some of our schoolmates won several first prizes in national athletics competitions.
We also have a wide range of hiking courses, like mountain excursions, drama courses and European certification in languages and computer driving.
Our class has been chosen for this European project because of our good marks in English and our quite good behavior. We hope to obtain a meaningful experience from this activity and to relate with
the others students taking part in this project.
